2. Master’s degree in psychoanalytical psychotherapy improvement

This Master’s program is designed for professionals working in the field of mental health (medical doctors and psychologists) who can prove their basic training in the theory of psychoanalytic thinking and a clinical experience equivalent to the Master’s degree in Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy.

Anyone who has successfully completed the Master’s degree in Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy can also be admitted.

Objectives
 

To expand the theoretical and clinical knowledge of psychoanalytical thinking with the contributions of post-kleinian authors.

To deepen the understanding of psychopathology and the technical aspects of psychotherapeutic work both in adults, children, and adolescents and in the treatment of couples, families and groups in general.

Supervision of clinical material in small groups.

Introduction to Bions’ and Meltzer’s thinking.

Seminar on Group Experience*.

Psychotherapy for Couples and Families.

Advanced study of the Theory of Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy Technique in Children and Adolescents.

Advanced study of the Theory of Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy Technique in Adults.

Supervision of clinical material in small groups.

(*) The Seminar on Group Experience is a key experience in psychotherapeutic learning. It will take place during weekends, which will be timely specified.

Practical Training Program
 

During the training program of the Master’s degree in Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy the student must complete one year of practical training in public institutions.

The Program of practical training consists of:
 
     
 
Observation of the Diagnostic Process. First interviews, diagnostic and case orientation.
Attendance in the supervision of the Diagnostic Process.

Observation of cases with diverse psychopathologies.

-Attendance in clinical sessions and other scientific events considered appropriate by the Institution.

Synthesis Paper and Master’s Thesis

 

On the first year of the Master’s program, students must write a paper based on clinical material, which must include the theoretical and practical knowledge taught during the school year.

During the second year this work will take the form of a Master’s thesis.


 


Clinical Sessions
 

During the academic year there will be two clinical sessions based on contributions made by the students regarding their therapeutic practice.

 


Tutories
 

During the Master’s program each student will be assigned a tutor who will guide and counsel him/her regarding his/her theoretical and practical training.
There will also be a coordinator in charge of the Program of Practical Training that students complete in public institutions.

The price of the theoretical portion of each year is 1950 €.
When applicable, the cost of the practical training must also be paid.
Payment will be made as follows:
- 150 €, upon registration.
- The remaining amount must be paid before September 25.
