Dear colleagues,
5, five is the number of colleagues who attended the General Ordinary Assembly, and here we should thank them for their endurance. Some of the Board members were also there.
11, eleven months left for this Board to fulfill what was agreed at the time with the Assembly. The Assembly, that by exercising its democratic right decided to vote in favor of this Board.
As those of you who study organizations know, these usually reflect the political situation of the times.
Could it be because we are at war, in the informative confusion of war, that we cannot exercise our democratic right (and obligation)? The right to inform, to be informed, the right and the obligation to participate. Because we are still in a democracy.
We think that what happened, this lack of quorum, responds to a symbolic acting of this social situation. Because we know that many of you participate in the committees, that when the time comes to organize an event, the vast majority of you contribute with your work- let’s remember the Pati Llimona -, and others to which virtually everyone responded to with great enthusiasm. Perhaps the fact that such a routine job as the annual Assembly makes us think that others will vote? Perhaps because it was Saint Joseph’s Day? Perhaps because we are all so tired? It is likely to be all true, in addition to many other things, more personal ones, including the fact that, perhaps for some of you, belonging to the ACPP it’s just a formality for being recognized as a psychoanalytical psychotherapist, and for having a path to Europe, perhaps? Those of us who are older and have lived so many years without democracy, we do know that democracy involves everybody. Let us not allow this war to take away our ideas, we do need them more than others for our work.
The Board

4. General Ordinary Assembly of the ACPP
|
 |

Despite the fact that you will soon receive the annual report and the minutes of the assembly held on March 19, we want to inform you about some issues that require immediate attention.
In this last Ordinary Assembly the Minutes of the ACPP Ordinary Assembly of March 21 of 2002 were approved, in which it was agreed to automatically increase the fees with the CPI, starting in January of each year. This year the increase, which will be 2%, will begin to be applied in April, which totals a fee of 21,46 euros for associate members and 10,73 euros for student members.
The Training Committee informed about a very satisfactory piece of data for the ACPP, which is that this year, the seminars that we were able to start have been very successful, since there has been a considerable number of students in some of them.
The assembly accepted the proposal made by the Scientific Committee to dedicate April 5 to the Debate: Why wars?, given the unfortunate present importance of this subject. It has not been decided yet whether the programmed Debate for June 14 dedicated to the situation of women will take place.
The Sections inform us about the vitality of the EFPP in a time of changes: that of the board, but also the gradual addition of psychoanalytical psychotherapists from Eastern European countries. The perspective for the next congress in Stockholm is good, and all the abstracts sent by ACPP people have been accepted.
The summary made by the treasurer seems to indicate that we will be able to afford the purchase of a projector for "Power Point", purchase also deemed necessary by the assembly, since lately it’s been necessary to rent it for some speakers, and should this become an extended practice, as it seems, it will soon pay off.
The president of the AEPP informs us about the meeting of the Board on February 8. She also tells us that the annual Assembly of the AEPP will take place on May 31 at the ACPP headquarters, assembly that will be held together with a scientific closing event the information and program of which you will receive in advance.
The Admissions representative informed about the new members, the change of status of some members and some resignations and deaths.
The secretary informed about the state of the organization and the modifications to the webpage.
The president presented the annual report.
You will receive this extract in extended form in the Minutes report. |
