1. Greeting

Dear colleagues,

By the time you get this bulletin we will be almost completing a new cycle.  From Christmas to Christmas –or from June 10 to June 10- we complete the cycle of life. But now it’s the cycle of Christmas, and we won’t do as the popular song says: we won’t kill a rooster and give a peace to aunt Pepa. But you know, it may be for the best. Now the rooster is the break, the leisure. And aunt Pepa is still in the family, this very patient family who understands our psychotherapeutic obsession which steals so much time from them, and to whom now –because of the Christmas holidays- we will be able to pay attention.
Let’s enjoy it.
Let’s hope the Education Ministry doesn’t impose on us a kafkian dream of papers flying around sinister corridors, and have a Happy Holiday.

After the conference on December 12, we will celebrate the end of the year with cava and torrons (typical Christmas sweets).

THE BOARD

3. News

Given the Christmas Holidays, you will get the next bulletin after January 6 (Epiphany), therefore we are already informing you about some of the activities that will take place in January.

There will be no conference on the second Thursday in January, since the proximity of the Christmas holidays make its organization impossible.

After their meeting, the publications committee informs us that they are about to finish issue number 5 of the journal. You need to send in new articles to start preparing issue number 6.

We bought a TV, VCR and DVD set, with a stand, for teaching activities. The price was 958 € and the ACPP School has participated in the purchase with 240€.

Adults Section: On November 28, fourth Thursday, the interesting presentation by Sílvia Kohan “Dreams and literature” closed the cycle of meetings dedicated to dreams. The Committee will soon meet to make an evaluation and to think about the subject or subjects and the way we will continue our work. We appreciate your contributions, suggestions and proposals. You will receive further information.

We inform you as well that we are taking part in a task force of the Adults Section of the EFPP (European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy), which is revising the levels of training provided in the statutes, with the purpose of issuing a certificate of Psychoanalytical Psychotherapist belonging to this European organization

The School’s ex alumni group interested in cinema-forum, has already held their second meeting.

The Conference on Fanaticism took place on November 8 and 9, which was followed by many of our members with great interest, specially regarding Dr. Rois lecture. We want to congratulate the Scientific Committee for such and interesting initiative.

We have sent out the members directory with professional addresses to several Mental Health Centers, in case these public institutions need to refer some patients out.

5. FEAP news

We have learned, through our delegate Jesús Gràcia, that a break has occurred in the relationship with the EAP, European Association of Psychoanalysts.

As members of the ACPP, this affects us to a degree, since we continue to have our connection with Europe through the EFPP, that is, the European Federation of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

We want to remind you that the FEAP invites all ACPP members to the Virtual Conference Interpsiquis. You may send papers on “violence and psychotherapy” from the end of November 2002, to November 2003, at the following webpage:
http://www.interpsiquis.com/2003

The FEAP has been invited by the Asociación Española de Neuropsiquiatría (Spanish Association of Neuropsychiatry) to take part in a Panel in the next Conference which will be held on June 2003. The Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy Section takes part in the committee that is creating this Panel.

The FEAP plans to hold in Saragossa the next biannual meeting in April 2004. The theme will be: The Psychotherapeutic Approach to Psychosis. Start thinking about it.

Platform for the improvement of Mental Health:
