1. Greeting

Dear colleagues,

We begin the last year of legislature with a very busy calendar, but we don’t want to let this large amount of tasks make us forget our writing. Writing is one of the priorities we want to propose to you. Being able to convey our task is very important, besides, we have the opportunity to publish in the IJP journal, as you will read in the News below. We have also set two other goals for this last year. One, making our Association known among institutions and the society in general, what its registered professionals do, and the services we can provide. With this goal in mind we are preparing an ambitious plan that we will present to the Assembly in March for its discussion.
The other goal is to encourage you to present candidacies to replace the openings next year. We all need each other. Anyone who has been an Associate member for three years can request to become a Full Member. Remember that to be able to vote for the new Board you must be in the latter category.

4. News from the Children and Adolescents Section

We are aware that several of you are doing research and many others are working in prevention in different fields. We would like you to get in contact with us in order to know directly about your work and to be able to offer you a place to share, discuss or make your experiences known to your colleagues, and to look for ways to make these experiences and conclusions reach the media.

We remind you that Montserrat Picañol and Joan M. Blanqué are carrying out rigorous work with the children of mental patients, which is as well the subject of their doctoral thesis.

Francis Carbonell is also preparing his doctoral thesis and the publication of a book on workshops with parents on telling stories to children.

Asunción López-Dòriga wishes to get in contact with anyone performing prevention tasks in schools.

Margarida Gratacós and Maria De Querol wish to contact professionals working with or interested in studying hyperactivity and their therapeutic approach.

We are deeply sorry to inform you about the recent death of the father of our colleague Montserrat Pol.
